Having said that, I put my post up there because I think its a prejudice or feeling that many small businesses new to this game probably harbor. 					<description><![CDATA[I am starting to appreciate the value of good SMM more and more but as a young company at the point of deciding whether to get someone in-house who can really learn our business and ultimately train others OR outsource the function, my first impressions of the cost/benefit analysis tells me that the difference between the two is significantly in favour of bringing it in-house.
I would really appreciate a balanced (un-biased) evaluation of those economics for a small business: perhaps in a future post.
Ultimately anything you can outsource your internal person can learn to do in-house, so it seems to me that it really boils down to the premium you are willing to pay an agency (and its a significant premium if my numbers are right) to have the flexibility to chop and change the resources devoted to that area at short notice.
A thoughtful analysis that faces the big issues like the need for all creative people (designers and content creators) to be switched out periodically to bring in fresh ideas and content, would be helpful.]]></description>
